Consider

• your target audience before planning your event (you may want to hold your event on a weekend day, especially if your event is geared toward families or adults who may be working during the weekdays)
  
  
• planning an interactive activity or workshop, or offering a free class or guided tour (in the past, "Open House" type events have not been well attended - the key is to plan something that requires active participation)
  
  
• having a staff member designated to take photos at your event (ABEA has created a photo gallery on its web page to showcase events - photos are also used to create marketing materials and generate interest in future events)
  
  
• having in-house incentives for participants (give-aways, handouts or a prize draw)
  

Make sure all staff members in your business/organization are informed of the date, time(s) and details of

your Lifelong Learning Week event(s). This way there will be no confusion when people call for details.
